Unable to complete 'Learn Protocol' during setup #4

I am not able to complete the 'Learn Protocol' step during setup. As soon as I hit a key, it goes back to the previous screen.

Hi @helicos6, Learning the protocol exits as soon as it has been learned, which is usually pretty quick so that's normal. It looks like Extra Keys' main window is showing you are in M2 mode in your video and have pressed the G8 and G3 keys (and likely others but those are the most recent ones at the times that is displayed). If you press a G key while Extra Keys is active, does the on-screen diagnostics in the Extra Keys window match the the expected G Key? If it does, then it sounds like the protocol is well learned.

In your video, it looks like you haven't loaded any profiles yet. Perhaps you had loaded some and then cleared them out. I thought I should mention this just in case, as the keypad won't have any effects in your apps if Extra Keys doesn't have any profiles.

If the protocol is working fine, then I take it you are having some problems with the desired effect not happening when you press a key. Are your macros in the M2 set or the M1 set? If they are in M1 then you will need to select M1 on the keypad.

There are also diagnostics available via the Console app, if you need help checking your profile file for errors. These are described in the Help document, reached from the question-mark button in the lower-right corner of the window.

@MarkJerde I loaded an old profile and it's working great! Thank you for creating Extra Keys.

Also, there is another app called Touch Portal, maybe you've heard of it.

Someone created a plugin for integrating Touch Portal with Logitech Gaming Software so that macros can be visually displayed on a tablet, which helps make use of the G13 Gameboard much better by knowing exactly what each key press does regardless of the context. It would be excellent if it worked with Extra Keys.
