Unable to get Extra Keys to work. #6

Hi Mark, first of all thank you so much for making this software. I use my G13 for video editing in Premiere Pro on a PC and a Mac - I exported the xml file for one of my Mac profiles I set up with the old Logitech software years ago. I’ve imported the profile to Extra keys. When I try Extra Keys on the Mac with premiere pro I can see that extra keys software recognises that premiere is running but the keys don’t function at all in premiere. When I exit premiere and check that Extra Keys is seeing all keystrokes, it is. All buttons recognised. Am I doing something wrong? Can you help at all? Much appreciated! And huge thanks again for giving the G13 the life it deserves!

Hi RolandeRat, When the fourth, "Most recent macro:", line never appears in the Extra Keys window when you press a key on the gameboard, that indicates that there is no mapping from the active app to a macro. Usually this is solved by checking the “target” in the profile.

Could you make sure that the "target" location in your profile matches the location of the app you are trying to use the gameboard to control? Sometimes I have multiple copies or versions of an app, and if I run one which is different than the one specified in the profile then the mappings won't be applied. In cases of having multiple copies or versions of an app and wanting Extra Keys to work with all of them, it can be done by specifying a Bundle ID for the "target" instead of the location of the app. There's a section in the help text about that.

If the target location is fine, then the next step would be to take a look in Console. Quit Extra Keys and open Console.app, make sure your Mac is selected on the left side, and then click Start at the top. In the search box, type "extra keys" (without the quotes) and then press Return. Launch Extra Keys and test to see if it works fine. Then take a look in Console to see if it loaded the macros in your profiles (messages like "Loaded macro:") and loaded the mappings in your profiles (messages like "Loaded key assignment:"), and if they loaded make sure they match the G and M keys you are using

Hi Mark

Firstly thank you so much for getting back to me, I really appreciate your time. I have a sneaky feeling that the incorrect software target will be the issue! The software has been updated many times since this profile was created (I've been struggling on without being able to use my G13 for over a year now!) I downloaded your software fairly recently hoping to once again use my G13 and the shortcuts that are now muscle memory. I was gutted when something wasn't working so I can't wait to try this out tomorrow and see if it's solved. If it works, I owe you! You'll have to send a PayPal address for me to buy you a drink or two!
