Some stand-alone mind map software allow you to add notes to a note (notes that will not show in the map). This feature will simplify the migration of existing mindmaps into obsidian.

This can be done by simply making the nodes into a link to a page using the [[pagetitle]] notation - also allowing you to navigate to the page.
