5# Send Friend Request

User story

As a student, I want to be able to send friend request to another student, so that another student can add me to their friend list and we can have access to each other access to specific, otherwise private, information to synchronize (and coordinate study process).

Use case

Starting situation (Initial assumption):

• The student A wants to become a friend of the student B to know each other timetables and synchronize their study processes.
• Student A and student B are students of the university and Have their accounts in the system.
• Student A is in the system.

  Normal

  1. Student A searches for student B with B's name or/and surname.
  2. System shows all found profiles according to the set pattern. (find nothing)
  3. Student A finds profile of student B. (No B profile)
  4. Student A clicks on student B's profile.
  5. System shows student B's accessible information and options for student A. (Options are: send friend request (if not friends), remove from my friends (if friends)).
  6. Student A clicks on option "Send friend request".
  7. System updates list of sent friend requests of student A (new waiting request is added).
  8. System updates list of received friend requests of student B (new waiting request is added).
  9. System notifies student B about new friend request from student A.

What can go wrong

• Student A sets wrong name or/and surname of student B. Therefore student B's profile isnt found. Student A must set name or/and surname rigth.
• Student A sets right name and surname but didnt specify that the search must be for student. In the result profile of a teacher/study department work with the same name is found. After clicking on the teacher's/worker's profile there is no option for sending friend request, as friends relations can be only among students. If there is a person who is a teacher and a student at the same time it is possible to send friend request (the system looks at the person through student identity).
• Student A sends friend request and then loses their "Student" status in context of system. System deletes all sent friend requests from student A to other students from their lists of friend requests.

  System state on completion

• Student B's list of incoming friend requests is updated (new friend request from student A). Student A's list of outgoing friend requests is updated (new friend request to student B is added). Student B is notified about new friend request by email. Student A doesnt have option to send new friend request to student B. Student A can remove their friend request to student B. Student B doesnt have option to send friend request to student A. Student B can accept or reject friend request from student A.

Do we want this feature to be used by Students and Teachers or only by Students? From what we discussed it seems to be useful for students to interact and synchronize with each other not Teachers. (I am being annoying, because we need to change actor from "Person" to smth suitable in that context)
