Found "perceptual hashing" method which sounds very interesting

It works something like this:

grayscaling image
getting mean value of pixels
resizing image (most of the time to 8x8 or 16x16)
depending on mean value: pixelvalues bigger then mean = 1 (or 255), pixel values smaller then mean = 0
returning vector with previously set values
comparing images based on hamming distance of returned vector
