I tried recording on different apps, but it continuously records a blank file. I think you need to let the user to select the microphone.

Recording on apps features it's to realtime transcribe voice come from app (like meetings apps), It need macOS13 and give the screencapture permission. (But for my poor device. If use large model will very slow to transcribe the result)

Thanks a lot for your prompt reply. It would be great if you add help or have instructions for users as well. Most people who use this kind of service work at the universities and not tech savvy.

I am going to introduce this app to my colleagues as well.

Also, as far as I know, the Whisper has its own translator as well, why not using whispers own translator instead of DeepL.

I checked different UIs for Whisper and by far yours is the best.

We will add using whispers own translator instead of DeepL at next version.

BTW DeepL can be free If you know how to use some open source docker proxy project.
