Unable to level the Bow weapon class

Describe the bug A clear and concise description of what the bug is. When killing things with a bow + arrow, I'm not getting weapon class exp at all

To Reproduce Steps to reproduce the behavior:

1. Get a vanilla bow and some arrows
2. Kill some mobs
3. See 0 exp towards the bow class

Expected behavior A clear and concise description of what you expected to happen. For me to be able to kill mobs with a bow and get the class exp for it, I also tested to see if it was the Nyf's Quivers mod that it wasn't working well with, but when I had the normal arrows in my inventory, no difference

Debugging Before reporting a issue please check if there is anything relevant in the crash-reports, debug.log and latest.log file.

Is the issue happening in combination with other mods? (If yes, please provide a full list) We have a lot of mods, but most of them work great with this mod, I just can't get the bows to work https://www.curseforge.com/minecraft/modpacks/moonlitmyths/relations/dependencies

Thanks a lot for the detailed report. Could you please post some screens of your stats windows to check if the items is tracked in general like:

I was able to reproduce the issue with the crossbow, but not with the normal bow. :/

Will test this more in detail and provide a fix with the next update.

I have this problem too,but i regenerated the config file because i just update it from old version(0.16.0) and it fixed.Maybe you can try it,remember make a backup that can help you to reconfigure the setting you has set.Wish you are successful.

I did try it a while ago when we added a few mods, but this is with vanilla bows and not modded ;-;

Ok I think I figured out why you are not seen any progress for this weapons.

In general there is a experience penalty for any death the player got so far, like:

As long the weapon has not earn more experience than the penalty if will not show any progress (with 0 xp). I will create an update for the description to display this directly for the affected weapons.

I just released a fix which shows the experience penalty for each weapon class, if any.

Please let me know if this solves the issue and if you see "-??☠" for the relevant weapons.

So far so good outside of my own servers issues, but I do see the -115 with the red skull on it now and when I kill stuff it goes down! \o/ thank you so much!
