[BUG] SKR Mini E3 2.0 / Ender 3V2 Print Over USB: Retract Failure / Grinding Noise #22449

Yes, and the problem still exists.

Bug Description

Very strange: Printing the 20mm^3 xyz test cube from SD card or over USB with latest Marlin bugfix firmware produces an issue: During each retract, the extruder makes a short ratcheting/grinding/screatching noise. Moving filament in forward feed direction is no issue at all, only happening on retracts (current setting with Hemera Direct Drive is .4mm @45mm/sec, other settings tried as well: from .1 to 1.5mm, @ speeds 15-45mm/sec).

I was suspecting clogged nozzle/wrong pretension first and cleared it. Then I thought of motor current which is set acc to manual HEmera (0.94V).

I have tried both STM32F103RC_btt and *_btt_USB environments.

Maybe it is connected with issue https://github.com/MarlinFirmware/Marlin/issues/22299?

Or is it steppers are somehow switching back from stealthchop back into standalone or spreadcycle mode? I have commented out HYBRID_MODE_THRESHOLD and enabled all channels x/y/z/E for stealthchop. V2 Mini E3 board does not have the 'cursed stepper mode jumper' either. So no reason to believe this is flawed...

Anything else I should look into? Somehow this is getting very tricky to diagnose...

Started after replacing BTT E3 Mini 2.0 for the stock Creality 4.2.2 MB

Fuuuug - resolved. Embarrassed to admit I obviously checked the nozzle state too superficially. It was partly clogged, it seems - replacing it with a new one resolved all the trouble. Shame on me! Closing...
