LCD 20X4 keeps switching #577

I have a lcd directly hooked up to a ramps board, and the display keeps switching between the menu and the main screen. I am using Marlin_v1. Tried Repetier, display works normally. So that makes me think it's a firmware issue.

Probably not, but I'm out of options.
