It still works, and hasn't automatically updated with the rest of my system updates, so I haven't thought to look at more recent versions. Thanks for the quick reply.

If you're on Arch Linux, the name of the package changed at some point from google-play-music-desktop-player to gpmdp. I don't remember the version I made the change at, but you should be able to uninstall the old package and install the new one without any issues.
