This would be great. I recently reinstalled my OS and with it, GPM desktop player, and since the settings do not show (for Linux at least, I don't know about other OSes) on the tranfer screen, I have to hit:
Transfer to YouTube Music -> Explore
every time to access YouTube Music. Something doesn't seem to be initialized properly when this happens, so I can't access GPM settings via the app settings after the "transfer", and things like forward and back (hotkeys) do not properly work.
Time to rename the app & remove GPM completely. Simple.
Hey @DarrienG if you have a systray somewhere(like in polybar) then you can switch to YTM from there. That is what I depend on right now essentially.
Defaulting back to GPM and having to get back to YTM mode in a round about way every time is an issue that is probably best solved by just removing GPM mode at this point. After the 31. December the GPM mode has no point anymore as the transfer function is disabled.
Curious, since last release was over 1 year ago, has development on this project honestly been abandoned?
This would be a great step forward for this application. Getting it updated to work with YTM only. Looking forward to some update on this.
I've started using YouTube Music Desktop instead
As we all know, the shutdown of GPM is complete. But the show goes on for GPMDP, thanks to the YouTube Music Beta feature.
Unfortunately, if you had GPM mode enabled after the shutdown, the only way to switch back is via the tray icon - not easily discoverable.
I'd like to make a feature request - have the app open in YTM mode by default, and make the switch to YTM button always appear in GPM mode.
