How to cancel saving the modified automatic backup?

Please read the readme section about the purpose of those files. If you nevertheless want to avoid this, have a look at the file layout options.

To just get rid of backup files in the end, simply specify a dedicated directory to store them (via --temp-dir when using the CLI or in the settings dialog when using the GUI) so you can easily delete them afterwards.
