Buy umbrellas #103

We have talked about the possibility of buying umbrellas, but not necessarily how many, how big, and who would buy them (and therefore keep them afterwards)

Here is some info that might help decide...

I checked at Walmart yesterday: Long (stick) umbrellas - $13 Short (folding) umbrellas - $6 Clear disposable ponchos - $1

Folding umbrellas, although cheaper, may be a problem when people try and put them back in our "umbrella stall". I think they will get all tangled up with each other. Stick umbrellas are simpler to put away and won't get as tangled. Ponchos, after they are used once, could be hung on a line to drip dry or thrown in a "poncho box". Anyone could re-use those ponchos, but the ones in the box will be wet and less inviting than the ones on the line or an un-used dry one.

Our Stick Umbrella inventory We have 2 old but use-able We will buy 2 more (we need to replace the old ones eventually) Grandma has 1 Some guests might bring umbrellas if rain is predicted

Our Folding umbrella inventory We have 3

Our Poncho inventory Zero

We just bought 2 stick umbrellas, so now we have 4. I guess that is all we can do until the 10 day weather forecast for Sept 13 helps us decide if we need to purchase ponchos and more umbrellas. And then we can decide how to manage them all in the tent.
