How much alcohol do we need, and of what type? Do we need a bartender? How is the alcohol served? Alternatives - iced tea, lemonade, juice

2 kegs and wine for 145 people is what Gilberts used and it was just enough. Depends on how many drinkers you think you will have.

I have called places in Roanoke, Charlottesville, Richmond, Winchester, Harrisonburg, and Staunton.

The only place I have found that rents Jockey Boxes is in Richmond. But the deal is you have to buy beer from them to use their Jockey Box.

They can provide DB Vienna Lager for $170 per Keg and DB Schwartz Bier for $175 (+or- $5) per Keg. They rent the Jockey Box and Gas for $75 for two weeks. The Jockey box has a $300 Cash deposit. Each Keg has a $30 Cash deposit.

We can pickup anytime during the week before. We can return the kegs anytime the following week.

We will have to keep the kegs cool in transit and while they are here.

The place is called Corks and Kegs (www.corksandkegs.com) I spoke with the owner, a guy named March.

Scratch that, we cant get the jockey box. I need to call tom and tell him he's off the hook, and then call devil's backbone and reserve some alcohol, and figure out who is going to pick it up and when.

dwightbiddle commented 9 years ago

Let tom know he doesnt have to pick up the keg for us. Going to call devil's backbone when they open and reserve a keg with some bottled beer.

The wine we will pick up today at a local liquor store and drive it down.

We have picked up 30 bottles of wine (12 red, 12 white, 6 riesling) and a bottle of scotch (Glenmorangie signet) for the ceremony

I emailed devil's backbone about reserving a keg and 3 cases of beer:

Hi Brittany,

We are looking for the Vienna Lager 1/2 barrel keg (15.5 gallons right?) that is $165. Since that is one of your most popular varieties, I assume you would always have it in stock, but we would like to reserve it for pickup September 13th. We would also like to get 3 cases of beer reserved for pickup on the same day, but I was hoping to get a list of available beers we can order in 24 packs with prices. We definitely want at least one of the schwartz bier, is it available by the case?

After we pick our cases, we would like to know how we can guarantee that the keg and 3 cases of beer will be available to us the day. Do you need a deposit, or some information from us, or can we just tell you what you need and you'll be sure to have it available?

If you'd like to have a phone call, thats fine too, you can call me any time at 617-686-1970.

Thanks,
