make xyweb act as upgrader #57

Hello,
as a idea:
try to make xyweb also perform upgrades from one version to the other.

So a user would start xy home and have a button "check for upgrades".
If a new upgrade is available, these could be downloaded and installed in
background.

What do you think?

I definitely think that it would make sense to have xyweb as the single
installer
which can download, install and update packages.

In addition, it would be great if it had the capability to only download the
packages
you ask for - IIRC, it currently downloads all of the full, basic or light
editions.
Personally I don't find this particularly useful because I can never remember
exactly what is in each edition and even though I only install a relatively
small
selection of packages I need to download the full edition to get the particular
ones
which I want.

I know that it's not the best solution: it was just the easiest and the
shortest one :)

In fact, the best would be if the main installer could download plugins on his
own.
I've already begun to write some things for this to work. But it will require a
lot
of tests.
