Hey @maxbachmann sorry, I did neglect somewhat edlib lately, but I did not abandon it, it is just that some stuff went through crack due to the pressure I have on other projects.

This PR makes sense, interesting that I made such a mistake -> if you are up for it please reopen it and I will merge it.
