play music by artist Armin van Buuren #4

Homey firmware 1.0.1

Kodi app version: 1.6.0

A voice command to start music by Artist works with one word, by example: Play music by artist Armin --> works Play music by artist Armin van Buuren --> didn't work

Tested by voice and by the http://[ip-homey]/manager/speech-input/

Could you please go to settings - > Kodi and screenshot the log that's relevant when you try to play music by artists Armin van Buuren? I know from memory that 'Gareth emery' works (2 words). I'll try Armin van buuren too, but in the meantime, please post your log

I've not look to the logging. That helpful to analyse this problem. I've tested the command with other artist: like Basement Jaxx, Bad Manners, Armin van Buuren, Bob Marley.

Basement Jaxx and Bad Manners are working well. The other two not. All artist with only one word in the name is working.

Looking into the logging, you could see that the app would try to connect to another Kodi. Earlier I had add another Kodi device to Homey. Could this be the reason for this issue? The Kodi device is already removed from Homey. Should I reinstall the Kodi App to clear the cache?

This could definitely be the reason. Multiple Kodi devices are currently not supported, this could explain why it 'sometimes' works. Try to delete all your Kodi devices from the devices menu, disable the Kodi app under 'Apps' (just to be sure), then re-add the Kodi device you're actually using and try again.

I've removed the Kodi devices and had disabled the Kodi app in the Setting Menu. Enable the Kodi app again and create a new Kodi device.

I would search for a artiest in the database with only some songs with the same issue. Maybe its related to the number of songs.

Or could it be some special characters, like: "Who's Afraid of 138! (Photographer Remix)"

This command give zero songs back in the log. Normally Homey makes a announcement that there are no songs for this artist.

Just read it's working after a reboot. Could it be a connectivity issue? What hardware are you using for your Kodi? Also, are you technically capable of downloading the source from Github and running the app on Homey through the CLI?

Last weeks I didn't do the tests you recommended. This issue isn't very imported for me. Starting a playlist or start the party mode for music would be nicer. I would help you, as far as I can. I've the technically capability to running the app.

I think the cause is related to the number of track of these artist.

Yes, your right! You've the bump bump me. The same thing is present. I think its because Kodi is busy with to read the database for the artist. Than he disconnect Homey.

The database for Homey is on another server. When asking Homey to play an artist without a BIG list of tracks, there isn't a problem. Maybe you could fix this issue to make the connection timeout larger.

The reason from this error is the connection between Kodi and the Kodi database on another device. Its not your Kodi Homey app. Thanks for helping!
