Why are all the issues a month a part? Did it take that long to publish an issue because of the images? I originally thought that this was just something they did in the winter when conditions were worse so they had less to do, but I think this is over a big portion of their expedition.
• TYI speaks about the ships a lot more than TIAN, (TIAN does serve a fleet of ships, but still) it seems like the authors of the TYI are trying to keep up moral and, for lack of a better term, patriotism on such a long journey. You don’t want to get to Calcutta and have the crew leave you. This could also be an indication that TYI was more widely read around the ship and TIAN was just for officers.

• Now I think that TIAN is for the middling officer ish people- like the scientists on board. Because it is too smart to be for the lower crewmen, but too reverent in talking about officers to be for them – I think that it is written by middling officers is also a sign

Are the underscores used in TIAN actually periods, sloppy writing, something else? Seems to be uses interchangeable periods, but also use with a period.
ie. words words words words words words OR words words words words.

FROM MI--remember that this other project mentions these dashes and says not to worry about trasncribing them https://www.english.cam.ac.uk/ceres/ehoc/conventions.html#annotations:HfDLvPenEeadoav1a9PVJQ
A lot of the illustrations, especially the large ones, have an artist's signature of C.F.Mc.D. Is there a way we could find out who this is? Do we have access to the ship's roster? I know it is a fleet of ships, but it is probably safe to assume that he is on the Assistance because that seems to be the largest ship in the fleet (at least based on the picture).

Is the running header a part of the original newspaper or a part of the book?
I think it is a part of the book because (1) it has the pagination for the book ie issue two starts on page 11 rather than page 1 again. And (2) because TYI has the date and location in its running header whereas the header of TIAN just identifies it as TIAN.
Can and where would we find any sort of papers that the editors might have had in writing this paper? ie original copies, drafts, article submissions I feel like this sort of stuff would be in the attic of some relatives manor house in England. How weird would it be to look at the genealogy of the editors to find their relative to ask for information?
Would the lithographer have any record of this sort of information? Like would the editors have given the original copies to the lithographer?
Just wondering how big this expedition actually was. On the last page it mentions the police being allowed to "take in charge" disorderly women and dogs. Was this large enough that it had a police force and men brought their wives?
