The Switch already has native support for some controllers (game cube adapter for example) and has cheap adapters ( e.g. the coov n100).
In theory a software solution would be possible, but it would be a complete new app instead of a port. The switch interals are too different
I would like to use the mayflash N64 controller usb adapter on the switch, currently does not work.
Here are some research already done about usb HID on Switch:

Meanwhile do you know how could I spoof an PID/VID of a generic usb controller on the switch to use the PID/VID of the Nintendo switch original pro controller?
Here is a product that do this on the Nintendo switch for many type of controllers: https://bliss-box.net/store/Gamer-Pro-Kit-p129163061
