Add a button to add coordinate text to the map at point clicked (using current coord type) #145

Open GoogleCodeExporter opened 9 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 9 years ago
If the user clicks on the map, the viewer should figure out the coordinate for
that point and label that spot with the coordinate, using the current format (3
options) selected by the user. Black text perhaps.

Requested by DCAM.

Aleda 11/12/2015 - I still think this would be a nice tool to have. Maybe have an icon "XY".

@MassGIS This is almost like the request to draw shapes on the map. Would this need to persist to printouts and extract?

MassGIS commented 8 years ago

It would be nice to have it in a printout, yes, but if that is too hard then just seeing it on the screen would be OK.

I don't see how extract is relevant though, so I don't think we need that.

Comparing to the measure tool, the user can only see the text while they are drawing the lines, although the lines stay, but not in the printout. Comparing to the buffer tool, the buffer circle also does not print out.

Maybe including these "items" on a printout is a potential separate task?

MassGIS commented 8 years ago

As an addition to this task it would be nice (if possible) to let the user use the tool to click multiple times therefore labeling multiple points on the map, and only clearing when they use the eraser button. I was envisioning this tool going on the bottom near the other "drawing" tools of measure and buffer.
