Unable to add new/edit existing data #36

Open crabe1990 opened 1 year ago

crabe1990 commented 1 year ago

When looking to make an addition to my existing FAQ database I can no longer see the buttons within the 'Site Contents > FAQ App' menu.

Usually after following the above path i will be shown 2/3 options such as Add a new database/Edit current database etc. However, this page is now blank with a button to direct me to contact the developer. I'm really hoping this is just a temporary issue as this app has been amazing for me the last few years and it would be a shame if i had to stop using it.

Having the same issue here now - had been working fine for ages. Such a useful app when working!

Put /SelectForEdit at the end of the URL for that "What do you want to do?" page and it will be useable again as far as I can tell.

The list of FAQs is here (see other answers on this page for more details) ; yoursitehere/FAQPage/Lists/Faq/AllItems.aspx so you can add new categories in the raw SharePoint data (then edit/manipulate them using that SelectForEdit link above)

Amazing tip! That works like a dream - albeit a bit of a workaround for the time being. Thank you.

ok, another challenge I just came across! I have the app installed on a subsite, but I didn't have it on a page as a web part before this "glitch" so I tried today to add it in and it is not showing up on the web:

Snipaste_2023-06-21_12-16-36

It used to appear like this: Snipaste_2023-06-21_12-17-28

Has anyone been running into the same issue? And is there a workaround to getting the FAQ sets to show in a page? Than you in advance.

I just came across this issue today too; fortunately the solution in @daveyfm 's post above worked, thank God. But I really hope they get this glitch figured out soon.
