There are a couple of features worth retaining from the old site.
[x] the Applications link on the top (can be anywhere), with tabs for glossary, math dictionary, but also add TGView and the MMT Web server; miscellaneous can go somewhere else (less important)
[x] the Help link at the top. Its structure seems OK.
[x] having a "news" feature, not necessarily how the old one works.
[x] footer with all the "sponsors"
[x] having an admin view that gives logged in users an admin interface (not how the admin works) some form of logging of the interactions.
[x] glossary and math dictionary (how they work can be rethought)
[x] the view, source, OMDoc tabs on the module view. We do not need (I suppose) both edit and source.
Here are some features we should (in my view) not do again
heavy login pane on the front page (all except the admin are public)
so much text on the top-level; probably more "slogans".
And some things we should add
[ ] links (icons?) to TGView and the MMT web server at all places in the archive hierarchy, opening those at the correct hierarchy level.
[ ] in-place editability of all content (as in our jekyll-based homepage), this applies to help/documentation and to math archives.
[ ] group-specific module views: for instance, in SMGlom, we want to present foo.omdoc (signature) and foo.en.tex (NL bindings) together as a group probably withe sig/language tags and ways to change the language. Probably also show document-like content (e.g. MiKoMH/*) different from formal content (MMT/LATIN), and that different from problems/solutions (e.g. MiKoProblems).
To help the overall design of the front-end.
