Add extra functionality from Alvise #87

Alvise was working on his MSc code + in the Azores on iAtlantic doing spatial planning (for the past year). He could have code that might be useful for spatialplanr. Need to talk to Alvise, show him spatialplanr, and work with him to get any useful additional functions into spatialplanr.

Can you provide some details about what was added and how it will be used.

We chatted with Alvise, and by getting through his code, it does not seem like we could have something to add for now.

Ok no worries. Thanks for letting me know. Try and add an explanation to all issues before closing them so we all know if it was done, not done or put aside for another reason.
