Interested in hearing your thoughts on this very open-ended question: in your experience, what is the micro/pixel that works the best? Valis resizes images to 850 pixels but that doesn't easily translates to a MPP value. In my own experience (using SIFT mainly), having the MPP value too high (maybe >20um/pixel) and too low (<5 um/pixel) both take a toll on the success rate.
