This came from feedback I got from Veronica evaluating work on #261:
One recommendation is that in the module itself under "select variables" I'd rewrite the note, which is too cryptic for most users and raises the possibility that something strange may go on without the user's knowledge. Why not just say "NOTE: This function only works for categorical variables." Then I'd also suggest adding the wording similar to what you have in the help file about using custom variables to downcode from quantitative variables.
Right now the text is generic; it pops up the same line any time allowedTypes is defined. Maybe something in the plainLang functions could be added for common cases like "categorical and dichotomous only". That would be quick enough that I think I can have it as part of Public Launch.
