I need more information. At what point does it core dump?

I just tested with IOS249 rev 17 and I cannot reproduce a core dump. When you
get the
core dump can you provide me just the stack trace of the core dump.

You should try reinstall cIOS 249 r17 as it's possible you have a bad
installation.
On the other hand, that particular IOS has a bunch of extra things built into it
making it rather different from other IOSs. If you have another IOS that works
for
you,just use that IOS.

As soon as it loads the IOS, I get this dump. (see attached)

Is it only happening when using IOS249 for you? Does it core dump on IOS36? If
it
only does it on IOS249, it sounds like a bad install of IOS249. We have had
quite a
number of people test with IOS249 r17 and not have any problems.

Yeah only on IOS 249 and 250. It loads fine on v10.1 using 249, but not on v11.
I
will try installing the cIOS again later today and see if it helps.

Same problem with IOS 249r17. Dop IOS MOD loads from homebrew channel, can
select
what IOS to use, select IOS249r17 and it goes to code dump.
Dop IOS MOD 10.1 still works.

Few questions.
1. What region is your wii
2. What devices are plugged in. IE do you have a USB drive, Game Controller.
3. Are you using a normal SD card or an SDHC card.
4. How are you loading dop-ios mod. I'm assuming HBC. If through HBC how are you
loading HBC?
just trying to find out what may be the cause as I cannot reproduce the crash.
Also if IOS36 is working just use that IOS. We use IOS36 for all of our testing
so we
know for sure it works.

USA
I do have a USB Mic plugged in, will have to try without it.
SDHC
from HBC

Mic shouldn't cause it, but there may be a small possibility that the SDHC may
cause
it. Once you load Dop can you eject the SD card when you get to the IOS
selection
screen and then select IOS249 and see if it core dumps.

Doh I just realized something. I'm on cIOS r16 not r17. Installing now to see
if I
can reproduce. If r17 crashes then it's something wrong with r17.

Bingo. Got a core dump with v17. OK Now that I can reproduce I can see what may
be
going on. But from the looks of it, there is probably a bug in v17 because v16
never
crashes on me.

OK It is randomly crashing, sometimes it crashes and sometimes it doesn't. It is
leaving me to believe that there is something wrong with v17. I'll continue
testing
but it is going to be hard to catch it since it is not consistently crashing on
me.

OK I narrowed it down finally. it has to do with the Wii Remotes reinitializing
right
after an IOS reload. I think what is happening is that the IOS is not fully
loaded
when the Wii Remotes try to reinitialize themselves. I added a 1 second delay
and
this seems to have hopefully fix it. I'll have it pushed out to v11.1 in just a
bit.

Please test v11.1. If it doesn't crash again I will close this ticket.

It works for me but only every other load from HBC. I load the first time:
black screen (pressing reset brings me back to HBC). Press reset
and load a 2nd time: Works great.
I also tried unplugging my USB drive: It black screened on me once, after that
it loaded fine multiple times. I also plugged the drive back in
and had no problems loading. However, once I loaded back to System Menu and
re-entered HBC, I experienced a permanent black screen
that required a hard reset.
Short version: Sometimes it loads from HBC sometimes it doesn't, but no code
dump.

So when is it blank. Right when you start DOP or when you load IOS249? If it is
right
when you first start DOP then this should be a new issue.
Original comment by Lunatik.CN@gmail.com

It's right when I load DOP after leaving HBC, before any text shows up.

HBC actually has a bug in it where sometimes (randomly) it doesn't correctly
load
applications. I used to experience this bug a lot more in the older versions of
it.
But I haven't had it happen in the latest version of the HBC so I assumed they
finally fixed it. I guess not :/
