Possible bug in Dop-IOS Mod v11.5 #37

Closed GoogleCodeExporter closed 9 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 9 years ago
What steps will reproduce the problem?
1.Start Dop-IOS Mod v11.5
2.Dop IOS60 using IOS36
3.Apply fake sign patch to IOS60 v6174

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
Expect to apply fake sign to IOS60 v6174 without using the stub IOS60 v6400
It tries to use the stub IOS60 v6400 to downgrade IOS60 v6174.
What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
Dop-IOS Mod v11.5 on a wii 4.1U

Please provide any additional information below.

I would like to use Dop_IOS Mod v11.5 to Dop my IOS60 to be able to read
channels from the SD card and I hit a brick wall.
The actual version installed is 6174 and I want to stay on 4.1, so the
v6174 wad is on my SD card.

When I try to Dop it I get the following prompts:
Using 6400 to downgrade to 6174
Getting IOS60 Revision 6400
<Download IOS from ...>

I read somewhere that the version 6400 is a stub and that it will brick
your Wii if you are on version 4.1
Is this a bug in Dop_IOS Mod v11.5

What would be the solution?

Thanks for any input. BM

OK I do see it as a bug, however 2 things.
1. If you already have v6174 installed, you don't need to downgrade. just run a
normal install and it'll ask if you want to patch IOS60 with fakesign. Make
sure you
are already using an IOS that has the trucha bug. IE IOS36 or a cIOS. If you
currenty
have v6400 installed just run the stub remove to uninstall that ios then do a
normal
install to reinstall v6174.
2. v12 which I'm probably going to be betaing in the next couple of days has a
brand
new installer. The current installer was just merged together from other
installers,
but I have completely rewritten the installer from scratch and it doesn't
require an
older ios to downgrade anymore. The only reason it will need to downgrade is to
be
able to restore the trucha bug in certain ioses.
