Feature Request : Install all the WADS of a directory in one button #45

First, For me Dop-IOS MOD is THE most usefull Homebrew ! I Really enjoy
your job and I want to participate a little bit on his development.

That's why I suggest to implant the option of installing all WADS of a
directory in one time. It could be very usefull for an offline installation
of newer versions of IOSes.

Other thing,(off topic) I don't think re-implant the possibility of
installating STUB was a good idea but It still you project and it's the
greatest Homebrew ever done ! Please continue his improvement !

If I find others ideas, I report you.

Thanks for all and sorry for my English because I'm French. ;)

I don't think it's a good idea for "Install all wads" and here is the reasons
why.

1. Lets say your wad folder has IOSXX-64-v1.wad and IOSXX-64-v2.wad. How will
it know
which one to use. We can always assume the latest version, but it's not a good
idea
in case you want actually wanted to install v1.

2. If 1 of the WAD installs fail you would have to start all over from scratch.
If
you have 40 wads, that is a lot of waiting and potentially failing again.

The only way to get around these 2 issue would be to prompt if you would like to
install a given wad. If you have 100 Wads in the wad folder then that is a lot
of
prompting to go threw.

I'll have to think about this more, but I personally think it's a bad idea to
implement something like this.

Also the reason we allow reinstall of stubs is if someone wants to re-virginize
the
Wii. The point of DOP is to allow ANY supported version to be reinstalled. It
is up
to the user if they want to reinstall a stub IOS or not, not us.

Thanks for answering fast.

1. Yes yes, but what I wanted to say was: we put in the WAD folder only the
WADs we
want to install not the others. Then we press one button and it start
installing all
wads of the directory. If one Wad fail, it retry once or/then skip it and
report an
error at the end.

2. Maybe if you think that's a bad idea, what are you thinking of adding Batch
installation like in WadManager Multimod from Leath ?

I think it's a faster way to install WAD offline instead of chosing in the IOSs
menu
the IOS we want, the revision and choose installation from SD.

I don't know, I'm just trying to improve Dop-IOS MOD and if you're bored of me,
tell
me ;)
Thanks for All !

Then why dont you just use batch wad installer..? :P
Maybe what you want is a que? Because DOP-IOS already has offline wad support.

Because, We now can completely and easily hack a Wii (any version) only with
Dop-IOS
MOD and a cIOS ;). Then a will make a tutorial (how to) in my French forum and I
think this add is just a faster way to do but nothing very useful. That's why if
Lunatik thinks it's a bad idea, I doesn't really matter. It was a suggest...

I'm not closing the ticket just yet ;)

I have a few ideas up my sleeve but it won't make the v12 release.
