Is the partition FAT and the first partition marked "active"?

Partition is FAT 32.. it's a 16 gig USB memory stick..
How do you mark the first partition active?

Flash drives typically don't really have a partition table, so I take back the
active
remark. USB hard drives are the ones that sometimes need to have a partition
marked
active. Does your flash drive work with any other USB2-speed homebrew?
