Savestates cause code dump #169

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Open up Genplus-gx 1.5.0
2. Load a game and make a savestate
3. Load the savestate at a later time, wait for code dump

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?

Should load the savestate in question without any issues, but the code dump
occurs EVERY time, thus forcing me to reboot the Wii.

What version of the emulator are you using?

Official, Wii version 1.5.0
HBC version 1.0.8
Wii System Menu 4.2
Region Code: NTSC
SDHC: 8.0GB
Brand: Kingston
Filesystem: FAT32

And before you say anything about the card, it worked fine in version 1.4.0, no
crashes whatsoever, so it being an SDHC card is irrelevant. The code dump is
always the same (error code never changes), if I'm not mistaken.

Again, a code dump should NOT be happening from just loading a savestate, as
previous versions never had this issue.

Off a course a code dump should not occurs, nobody is going to contest you that
:-)
The problem is that savestate works perfectly fine for me and for other people,
I don't have experimented a single crash so far, which is why I think the cause
of this issue is something else.

First, if you got a code dump, always copy the informations from the dump
screen, this is the only waymost useful information for me to know where the
crash occured.

Secondly, upload the state file and also your config file so I can I have some
mean to reproduce the issue. The fact it happens every time as you said should
make it easier to reproduce.

Lastly, please give some aditional details (details about your Wii are really
not important and won't help figuring anything): does it happen with every
games you tried ? a specific game ? what did you exactly do between the moment
you saved the state file and reloaded it (shutown the emulator, change options,
load other games, etc) ?

I will reopen it if you have any valid informations to provide as asked, until
that it's impossible for me to reproduce your issue, savestates work as
expected here.

Okay, I deleted all previously made savestates and so far, it seems to be
stable; I was making saves on just Sonic the Hedgehog 2 (U/NTSC).smd. Will do
more thorough testing to make sure it isn't a fluke.

If you were trying to load savestates from 1.4.0, they are incompatible with
the last version.
As from 1.4.1, I'm trying to keep compatibility with older versions as the
state format is evolving but this is not an easy task (and sometime impossible
as the emulation core is changing)
