MIA Hamm Soccer 64 - previous screen is visible & thin horizontal line

This game works very well for me except the following:

1.  When you quit a match to the game menu, a portion of previous screen is 
still visible on the left side.
Can it be cleared to black?

2.  At the game menu, if you move up & down the options, a thin horizontal line 
will appear.
