Texture or blending corruption #84

Closed GoogleCodeExporter closed 9 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 9 years ago
To see the corruption, do the following :
1. Start Bomberman64U and you can close rom at "BOMBERMAN64U_01.jpg"
2a. Start Perfect Dark, watch the intro video and you will see it flickers
at "Perfect_Dark_02.jpg"
3a. Enter the game proper and you will see corrupted lighting effect at
"Perfect_Dark_01.jpg"
2b. Start OB64 after Bomberman64U and you will see corrupted smoke effect
at "OgreBattle64_01.jpg" and corrupted moving cloud effect at
"OgreBattle64_02.jpg".

Note:
If you don't start Perfect Dark after Bomberman64U, there is no flickering
at intro video and you get perfect lighting effect at "Perfect_Dark_03.jpg".

If you don't start OB64 after Bomberman64U, the smoke and cloud effects are
perfect too.

There are other scenarios that will create similar corruption.

Gonetz,
For your investigation.

Start Paper Mario and open its menu screen with "START"
(Glide64_PAPER_MARIO_01.jpg)
then close the rom.

Start Perfect Dark and you will see the same flickering at the intro video and
corrupted lighting effect in-game.

I have tried my latest compile version on PJ64 v1.6 and there is no more
diluted smoke effect when OB64 is started after Bomberman64U. It is working
for Perfect Dark lighting when it is started after Bomberman64U. Can't verify
latest official WIP because it crash PJ64.

You may proceed to close this issue if you can verify that the official
WIP(HWFBE) version is working too.

Just tested latest official WIP (without "Rice") on Mupen64 and still have the
same issue. Does the official WIP works for you?

Not sure why my latest compile version works on PJ64 v1.6 (still trying to get
it to work on 1964).

I have the blending corruption on my build, but I did not find yet the source
of it.

It is working correctly if "Rice" format is checked but these issues will
surface if "Rice" format is unchecked. - tested on PJ64 v1.6

Sorted out my issue.
No more blending issue in PJ64 v1.6 whether "Rice" format is checked or not
(working for Perfect Dark, OB64 and Paper Mario).

Still have blending issue in 1964 (probably core issue).

Unable to verify official WIP on PJ64 v1.6 because it crash emu on closing rom.
If you can verify official WIP works in PJ64 v1.6(above scenario) then you may
proceed to close this issue as invalid.
Thanks
