Same for me. No problem with usb mounting but it should be looking for
something at
the sd card that make things crash. It has something to do with looking for
config
files. I tried by removing boot.dol from the sd card and it works (of course
booting
the one from usb drive)... I removed mplayer config file and crashed again.
Cios 249,222,223,202 installed...
Well... hope it helps...

Same problem. I have a 4.2u softmodded and do not use an sd card at all,
everything
mounts from a FAT32 partition on my WD My Book HDD. I run Mplayer AX fine, have
installed all ios, hermes, etc. When I go to open the player ce, it loads, then
tells me I need to check to see that I have installed to the proper
directories.
They are. PLEASE help.

0.76 doesn't work but 0.77 r565 can run from fat/usb without SD card. Tested OK
with
Hermes v5 cIOS202 (installed with default IOS). Can't tell for r567 as it
doesn't
work in Europe on PAL Wii (Err DSI -> CodeDump).
But with r567 running from Fat/USB, you still won't be able to browse NTFS/USB
(this
is issue #470)

The above worked for me as I had the exact same problem booting from USB HDD.
I
updated with 0.77 and the "check folder location" message went away. Next
thing I am
streaming via SMB and playing from USB HDD. Great App. Thanks for the fix
info above
poster.
