What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Set up SMB share with or without password.
2. Startup mplayser ce an try any and all of the shares.
3.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
I'm expected to see a list of files from my computer.
Instead I instantly get an error: reconnecting to smb share1 or whatever
share it is. Sometimes it even freezes for a minute and then tells me
error. Most of the time it instantly thinks smb does not work.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
Mplayer CE v0.76
I have no idea what OS, I set up my wii a long time ago.

Do you have a modchip?
no

Please provide any additional information below.
It sometimes worked before. I cannot identify any differences between when
it worked and why it is not working now.

I too am getting SMB issues after update.
1. Updated to 0.76
2. Accessed my home linux network as usual and started playing an .avi movie.
3. Movie (Wii) froze after about an hour in.
4. Restarted Wii and went back into mplayerCE.
5. Couldn't connect to SMB anymore.
6. Restarted server, checked ip address in smb.conf, no change.

I don't know what else to do.

I found that when using an smb share on a windows xp computer that you have to
use a
username and password.

If you don't you get the error reconnecting to smb share
