Support for UPNP/DLNA: Make our Wii and media client #614

In addition to the SMB support. It would be very interesting to be able to
access an UPNP or DLNA server (e.g. TwonkyMedia, ...) over the network to
play the MP3s, Videos or show pictures.

Having this on the Wii title menu would be just great

It will be also interesting to have a way to "NAME" smb shares 1,2,.. etc. with
a
name that explain to with share it redirects.

I understand it could be done easily using the smb.con and add a definiton call
Name1,2, etc.

Thanks,

Aldo

I would love this feature as I already have PS3MediaServer running for my Sony
TV in the other room. The Wii *should* be able to play my 720p AC3 encoded
media files provided they were being transcoded to MPEG2 on the fly. Which in
this case, they are.

yeah, I would really like the DLNA feature also... I use FreNAS to do the
DLNA to our Samsung TV, and i would be nice for wii to also access it :-)

To the devs: Take a look at djmount (http://djmount.sourceforge.net/), it
should be easy to port and make it run on you app ;)

Thanks

I currently use Nero MediaHome on my desktop computer to stream to my LG
TV...and would love for this to be an option on the wii. If my TV can do it, I
see no reason that mplayer shouldn't have dlna client support. Mediahome
already does the transcoding for you, so it shouldn't be too bad.
