r590 - Blue Wii Drive Light sporadically lights durring file playback. #718

Closed GoogleCodeExporter closed 9 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 9 years ago
Using latest featured build, r590.
During playback of any file, video or audio, the Blue Wii drive light is
observed to light up sporadically.
Defect did not exist in previous featured build, r574.

Wii is softmodded at system menu 4.2U. Installed Herme's CIOS202v4 with
IOS38 Base.

Addendum: Also noticed that volume scale is now 0-200 where once 0-100 and
defaults at startup to a value of 100. Did not see this change documented
on MPlayer or MPlayer CE site....

It's impossible you only updated from r574.
Also, the actual value is 110.94%

Glanced over the code changes from r574 and r590 and didn't see anything that
should
affect the Wii drive light this way. When using r574 or last 0.76 release the
issue
is not present. Nor is it present with any other Homebrew like WiiMC. The Wii
has not
been changed as far as cIOS or System files go...weird.

As this issue seems to be with my Wii alone, with no word of others being
affected
yet, will consider the issue closed with my thanks for a great Media Player.

I'm having the same issue, it seems like the light is used as a VU for audio.
At least with my Wii if I turn the
volume (in MPlayer) down with the - key on the WiiMote, the light stops
flickering.

It looks like the light blinks as a graphic visualization of the audio.
Maybe it's a new feature, but for some people it could be annoying.

I find it to be annoying, and would appreciate an option to turn it off if it's
going
to be included in future releases.

Otherwise, hey, free software, right? I'm just going to downgrade to 574 for
the time
being.

There will be a separate option eventually.
