r590 won't initialize wired network #740

I have the Datel LAN Adapter connected - Homebrew connects fine to the 
internet, but MPlayer CE v0.77 r590 writes repeatedly:

Network not yet initialized, Please Wait

When trying to access an SMB share, but nothing ever happens

I bought this LAN adapter to see if high data rate .VOB files would stream 
without pausing for caching, which they do over the wireless ...
