Hi, i have been using mplayer for a long time
(mostly for dvd's)
but when i have a 720p movie the quality is dumbed down to 256p and the quality 
looks horrible
what is wrong and can somebody fix to keep the quality the same or at least 
down to 480

We are decoding at quarter resolution when possible to save processing time, 
although this does introduce artifacts.

so what's the best resolution to view cpu/hardware wise? is it 480p or is it 
lower?

but when it dumbs down the video (usually the video is 1280 x 568 (or something 
like that)) it goes down to 640 x 268 causing the picture to loose A LOT of 
picture quality to be lost.
just watch a 720p divx file on your comp then on your wii to see what i'm saying
can the loss of picture quality be changed
