mplayer-ce r658 on homebrew 1.0.8 freezes up as soon as I try to start a DVD #790

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1.Launching mplayer-ce with a DVD inside the wii
2.Choosing any of the playing options in the 'DVD Video'  menu
3.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
Expecting to watch the DVD.
Instead, after choosing 'Play DVD' (or any other playing option in the menu) 
the application shows the 'Mounting DVD' message and after that disappears wii 
freezes up and I have to restart it

Please use labels and text to provide additional information.
Installed HBC 1.0.7 on a 4.3U and after a few days updated to HBC 1.0.8 upon 
HBC's update message.
Then I downloaded mplayer-ce r658 and put it in the apps folder in the SD. Did 
NOT install the Hermes cios since I thought its only good for USB2 
compatibility.

Similar experience but with crash after waiting about 65 seconds.  NTSC-U, 
4.3U, MIOS v10, BootMii IOS58, Homebrew Channel 1.0.8, mPlayer 0.8
