Error in accessing the rom folder from root #243

Closed GoogleCodeExporter closed 9 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 9 years ago
What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. placing the wii64 folder with .dol file in it in the apps folder and the
wii64 folder with roms and saves folder in the root folder
2. starting wii64
3. selecting load rom

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
Expecting a rom list, getting an error message

What version of the product are you using? On which system and loader?
downloaded yesterday, my homebrew channel was installed about a year or so ago

Please provide any additional information below.
I've tried it with the two original files in the rom folder with a
banjo-kazooie rom and buck bumble and again without either of the original
roms.

Really just looking for a suggestion, it's quite frustrating as it seems like
such a
simple problem.

Does this SDCard work with other RECENT homebrew (regardless of if it works
with the
Homebrew Channel)?

It could be a number of things, your SD card might be SDHC and your Wii might
be too
out of date (software wise) to use it. There was a time where the software
(libOGC -
the software library that Wii64 links to) would support SDHC instead of IOS
doing so,
but times have changed and I think it's up to IOS to do so now.

Secondly, can I confirm that your SD card layout looks like so:
/apps/wii64/boot.dol
etc..
/wii64/roms/Some ROM.v64
/wii64/roms/Another.z64

Hope this helps.

file architecture agrees with what i have.

concerning the first question, i'm not entirely sure what you're saying, I can
confirm that i've gotten other emulators to work, namely SNES9x and genplus gx,
using
the same file architecture as for the wii64. however they aren't exactly recent,
genplus was put on there in july. this is the first new bit of homebrew i've
put on
in awhile, i was kind of waiting for this, I am really excited for when i get
it to
work, I appreciate your labors.

The problem is for the sdhc

Can make wii64 compatible with sdhc

Examining my card it doesn't appear to be be labeled for sdhc (high content
according
to the SDHC faq i found on google), and it's only 2 GB in size, so according to
the
wiki it should fall under the category of standard. it's current formatting is
ms-dos
(fat-16), if that's relevant.

Success running from a USB flash drive, so the software is fine, something
askew with
my SD card.
