Patch for libdi support, and experimental zlib support. #27

Closed GoogleCodeExporter closed 9 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 9 years ago
This patch will add libdi support, and experimental zlib support to the Wii
branch of mupen64gc. It also fixes some a minor bug in the ISO9660
filesystem and changes some offsets from u32 to u64, making the entire DVD
addressable. It is currently Wii64 only, but this patch should not affect
the GameCube compile process.

We're working on incorporating the patch while maintaining compatibility with
GC/GC mode.

Patch added into the main trunk, quick hacks made for GC version to compile.
ROM-Cache.c for ARAM will need to be updated to work like the MEM2 version to
support
Zip files.

It's already in the SVN, just build from there.

I can't seem to build this, my devKitPro is giving me grief with the libdvdx
library. It compiles, but fails in the linker stage somewhere. Is there
something
I'm missing in devKitPro? I had to install the libdvdx manually, "make install"
doesn't work on Vista (T_T) so I probably missed something. Hint?

Use the latest CVS revision of libogc to build this.

SVN(subversion)is a control version system.
I have do the next steps for compile it.

1.- download and install devkitpro http://www.devkitpro.org
2.- download via git and install libogc "git clone
git://hackmii.com/home/ogcgit/
libogc",
for do it you need a git client, http://git.or.cz/
3.- download via svn mupen64gc src, "svn checkout
http://mupen64gc.googlecode.com/
svn/trunk/ mupen64gc-custom"
for do it you need a svn client, http://subversion.tigris.org/
4.- go in command line to mupen64gc directory and type make -f "makefile_name".
when makefile_name is the name of a makefile provided for the svn source code.
Each of them will give a specific binary version.

My wii64 loads, the animation of the cube on the top right is still moving but
my
controllers are not moving the menu at all. i tried the WiiMote and i even
bought a
Classic Controller but no luck, any ideas?

This is completed as of around build 460 near the ARAM fix. Wii version
supports .zip
up to 32MB sized ROMs and GC version doesn't support ZIP.

At first I couldn't get Wii64 to work. I figured it was because I was only
using my
mote & chuck, so I went and bought a couple of GC controllers; still no luck.
That
damn menu screen preceded the spinning N64 logo just sat there, colorful and
unresponsive to anything but holding down the power button on my console.

I saw DCelso had apparently made a patch that would enable me to just use my
mote and
chuck. "Sweet deals," I thought "The last piece of the puzzle!" So I downloaded
his
proffered files, extracted them, then realised I didn't have the faintest what
they
were, where to put them, or what to do. So I open in notepad and see a lot of
semi-english jumbled in code and go "hmm...must be some kind of code mumbo
jumbo only
some sort of program or superhuman could make sense of. So I go back and look
for
instructions on where to put them. I try a couple of pieces of advice to no
avail
then see that DCelso has a link to this string to do with installing it. I say
"Hmm...I don't know what a libdi is.. it sounds sexual..." and I find his list
of
things to do and while purusing I say to myself "Well I might get a bit over my
head
- no trouble though, I have the time and the brain power."

So now I've been reading documentation on "Git" for nearly four hours now and
still
can't find a terminal, install, or anything to do with the program itself.

Now that I've complained for a bit, told you my life story, made passes at your
daughters, it's time for my real question! Reiterated from other similarly less
competent forum users - I know - though not completely addressed in my opinion:

Is there no way that a release of mupen64gc ALREADY patched with this the mote
and
chuck input support and a libido libdo labia to fondle on your free time could
be
made available?

Thank you for your wholesome time.
