What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Click the pyramid on any screen not whitelisted.
2. After the reload, new items may have appeared that are not allowed.
3. Having A Yellow Block Could Tell People That SOME items are still
not allowed so they can do another "Allow All" and a red block to
show that NOTHING on the page is currently allowed (see below for
specific details and how you can get more NoScript-like. :)
What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
Latest Version, Windows 7 Ultimate x64
Please provide any additional information below.
NoScript has two icons which show that one or more scripts are blocked. They
use a BIG red circle with a slash through it for a completely blocked page and
a subscripted red circle on the control when SOME are allowed but some aren't.
It is only a clean black and white icon with no red at all when ALL items which
can be allowed, ARE allowed.
Since you chose green to allow, why not show a RED box when NOTHING on the page
is enabled, a yellow box when some things are allowed and a green box when all
are allowed. This would make using your product (which is pretty cool and
sorry about the password message... i hadn't seen it was a rare event) MUCH
MUCH MUCH more like NoScript and there would be ZERO confusion about the state
of the pyramid icon. So, no "clean" icon like NoScript, and three possible
icons as I stated showing a pyramid with a specific subscripted color box as
follows:
Red Box: Nothing on page has been allowed by NotScript.
Yellow Box: Some items on page have been allowed by NotScript.
Green Box: ALL items on page have been allowed by NotScript.
This will prevent what I just went through which was wondering why my video
wasn't playing after I did an "Allow All". You see, once refreshed, the
allowing of some scripts can cause new scripts to be added to the page which
would be NOT allowed by default by NotScript. Most pages I go to when using
FireFox require 2 "Allow All" clicks on the NoScript menu. Your product
requires the same 2 (or sometimes even 3) "Allow All" clicks before the whole
page is allowed, but your icon doesn't show the difference between SOME allowed
and ALL allowed and it would be VERY confusing to a non-PC user.
Please contact me at any time with any questions and call me if you need a
Systems Architect to be a sounding board or help in any way.
Your program is the BIGGEST reason I am trying to use Chrome as my default
browser. Without NotScript, I would stay with FireFox, so ANYTHING I can do to
assist in ANY way will be immediate and thorough. I don't know Javascript so I
probably can't help code, but for design issues, I am the man.
