Sega Bass Fishing crashes with nullDC 1.0.4 r50 #219

GoogleCodeExporter commented 9 years ago
I did a search on the reported issues and did not see any listing for the Sega
Bass Fishing game.

I'm not sure that I have a bad dump or the emulator is having compatibility
issues with this game. The game will get to the SEGA title screen and then
nullDC 1.0.4 r50 would crash with a memory read error (see attachment)

I'm using Windows XP SP3, Intel T7250 @ 2.00 GHz, 3 GB RAM. I will be glad to
provide any additional information if this is an issue specific with my machine.

Thanks,
HD

Which region/version is your game image?

I used the PAL GDI version with r66, the game crashes after the SEGA logo with
this error (which I think is the same):

Thanks for looking into this issue. It's been a while since I reported this
issue and I'm now using a Win 7-64 Bit machine. Fortunately, nullDC still
works on my new machine.

However, the special build to fix issue #219 did not work. Any special
setting(s) that I need to be checking for?

Forgot to include the drkprv.dll earlier ;)

Re-download again..

Installation:
All you have to do is to download a pre-compiled build of r135 and overwrite
the old contents with the new ones included in the archive.

Fixed by new "tst.zip " (probably r136 in future)

I must say, i don't quite agree with the fix. It *might* be correct, but the
chances are it's not.

I'm having the exactly the same issue as the original poster using PAL GDI or
CDI versions. I'm using the Aug 21st r136 now and every other game I've tried
is working more or less perfectly.

Has the fix above been included in r136 and if not, is it safe to overwrite
r136 with the contents of the zip file above?

This issue was corrected in r135 (w/fix) and that's what I'm using with Sega
Bass Fishing. However, it seems to be broken again in r136. See the
attachment for the fixed file.

Yes, it sorted it :) Is there any chance of a r137 getting released with this
fix?

GoogleCodeExporter commented 9 years ago
That "fix" was never in r135 to begin with, thus cannot be "broken" again in
r136. And since nothing from the "fixed" binaries was touched on source, the
files should work just the same. Please do not report misleading things.

The fix only affects the renderer.
Just grab the archived dll from the plugins dir and you're all set ;).
