Closed GoogleCodeExporter closed 9 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 9 years ago
What steps will reproduce the problem?

1: Tried with my own dump and dumps from other people same thing
2: stock settings
3: used to work at around SVN100 but stopped after that, I cant think of
anything that changed on my end, also just went back and tired svn100 again and
it now doesn't work hmmm

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?

The expected output is: Game Plays

But instead I see: Stays at sega screen but not locked up just sits forever

What version of the product are you using? What build? What plugins?

I use version: A few since 100 it has happend now on 113

I use a *Edit This*Release*Debug*-NoTrace*Edit This* build

I use the following plugins:

PowerVR Plugin: Stock
GDRom Plugin: Stock
AICA Plugin: Stock
ARM7 Plugin: Stock
Maple Plugin(s): Stock
Ext.Device Plugin: Stock

On what kind of system?

My system specifications are as follows:

Operating System: Windows 7
CPU: i7 950
Video Card: 5770
Sound Card: realtek
Additional related hardware and/or software: Fresh install of 7 changes nothing.

Please provide any additional information below:

Just fresh stock SVN, i know it works for other people not sure whats going
on. most games work. SOome dont, out of the ones i tried Shenmue and Carrier
are the only two that does this.

Image file path contains non-latin characters?

Original comment by Mr.PsyMan on 17 Dec 2010 at 6:14

Image file is just called Shenmue. Does it from my own full dumps (cdi file
with .bins) and an ripped cdi.

Not the image, the path, like "c\abgf\shenmue\blah.gdi" for example.

A GDI is a full dump, and please test again with a non-optimized build.

I tired both non optimized and optimized and I know GDI is a full dump I just
tried other versions of the game to see if my dump was bad. Still all do it.

Use non-optimized builds when reporting, and check the console for messages.

I just tried and have no problem booting a GDI version of Shenmue I, nor II
(both JAP). Does it boot in interpreter mode at least?

This is gonna sound oh so dumb but I tired google and for the life of me cant
figure out how to turn on interpreter mode.

Thanks for all the posts, I got it fixed! Looks like I had a bad pfctoc.dll
file which as you know im sure was used to mount the disc images. Downloaded a
fresh one from the disc juggler site and now works perfect! thanks!

If you downloaded it from here: http://www.padus.com/downloads/cdi.php
That's exactly the same we have. (exact hashes)

I'll mark this as an invalid report then.

Hmm yes, somehow that dll got wrecked on my end. After switching it back from
my original file to the new one it breaks and fixes the game. Sorry to trouble
you all
