Crash with Shenmue II (disc 2)

What steps will reproduce the problem?

1: On Disc 2 of Shenmue II, while looking for Ren, ask the pidgeon guy infos 
about the Heavens.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?

The expected output is: Answer from the pidgeon guy.

But instead I see: screen freezes and nulldc crashes.

What version of the product are you using? What build? What plugins?
