Here is my Dop-Mii report that you requested. What system menu settings did you
want?

Here is my Wii CSV IOS report and a short compressed video with my Wii 4.1U
menu's video settings and the differences in loading Priiloader 0.6B1 and 0.5.
Hopefully this helps in some way! :)

Very good news! I just found out that they aren't arrows. I just took this
photo with my Dazzle, and it saw above the arrows. The P's look like arrows
It's really text that says the following quote:

"Failed to retrive nand permissions from nand. IOS 36 isn't patched!"

I also included my system menu settings.

i figured as much (hence why i asked for the ios reports) and why i asked to
try a different video mode (im 100% sure on 50hz , which is sadly pal only, it
would work fine)

however, its contradicting to why its showing the same on Drew's wii eventho
his ios36 is apparently patched with nand permissions :/

however, Drew, your ios report says its generated on 27/9/2010 ? how come? i
got a feeling your ios36 isn't in the same state as it says in the log...? :/

I reinstalled IOS36 with trucha bug and what do you know, I was able to update
Priiloader to 0.6 beta 1! Looks like all we have to do is reinstall the trucha
bug for IOS 36 and it works just fine. However, I'm still having a problem with
the random color screen with WiiConnect24 enabled. Any suggestions?

I used that IOS report because my system has not been changed since - I looked
it over before sending it. And as for the trucha in IOS36 - hard to imagine
mine disappeared because I have a launch year Wii with trucha-EVERYTHING as you
can see! I will run the IOS test again with both Dop-Mii and Syscheck, just to
be sure. But I suppose it doesn't hurt to re-trucha it - though I don't have a
trucha-36 handy (and no wifi at home).

Let's say my IOS report says the same thing (I'm at work so I cannot test til
later), would I need to patch IOS36 with Nand permissions? If so, how do I do
that? I've never had this problem before so what is it about this version of
Priiloader that requires me to alter my system like this? I have BootMii in
Boot2 so it's not a disaster if something goes wrong, but I like having
original IOS files like I do.

just reinstall ios36 with all the patches (and it requires nand permission
patch, not trucha. why trucha helps is beyond me :/ )

also, i dont know why it wouldn't work; but the test is very clear : get the
system menu tmd. if it failed -> no permissions
if it works -> we got permissions

Is TBR the best way to patch IOS36 with Nand Permissions?

Well, reinstalling IOS36 w/ Nand permissions did the trick and I was able to
install 0.6B1 with no problem. I wanted to revert back to my old version of
IOS36 without NAND permissions because certain Tantric apps were giving me Code
Dumps that hadn't before, and for some reason I was still able to use the 0.6
installer even when IOS36 didn't have Nand permissions. So I'm not sure why I
didn't need them after 0.6 was installed but needed them before. And the Code
Dumps I believe are related to my not having wireless anymore and the No IOS
Reload line in the XML files with Tantric's apps, and not related to the IOS36
manipulation.

if either DrewCU or tflouras could install a clean, patch free , ios36 and run
boot2.dol to see if it still has the video issue ; it would be great :')

I can try, but like I said, I had no Nand permissions in IOS36 the second time
I tried to install B1, and it worked for some reason. But I will give this a
try.

I would try this, but I'm going to wait and see how it goes for DrewCU first. I
would try this right away, but I don't and can't have Bootmii as boot2. Also, I
was able to to test my bug that I had in issue 138 on another Wii and they
didn't have it. When you say run boot2.dol, what is it, and do we just boot it
from the Homebrew Channel? Also, I did install 0.6 beta1 just fine. Did you see
my photo above showing what the "error" says?

Original comment by tflou...@gmail.com on 20 Oct 2010 at 2:54

GoogleCodeExporter commented 9 years ago
well, running the dol from HBC with an unpatched IOS36 should show the error so
maybe that part is safe (installing you'd better wait with :P ).
also, its based on your picture that im requesting to do this with an unpatched
IOS36 so that the error would show up again.

GoogleCodeExporter commented 9 years ago
I tested boot2.dol and I can confirm that with an unpatched IOS36 (I swapped it
in), the installer now correctly tells you that you don't have Nand
permissions, etc, and no longer shows the two small arrows on top. So this is
now fixed!
