Huh, very odd indeed saying as I thought those issues have been resolved in this
version. Did you delete the old prefrences.xml (is that what it's called?)
before
loading the new version? AFAIK, these issues should no longer be there...The
new
System Menu 4.0 shouldn't be affecting HBC at all (if you previously installed
it
prior to the update). But, I haven't updated to 4.0 yet, so I don't know.

Yes, i had hbc channel installed since 3.2, that's not an issue. I also deleted
the
settings.xml, didnt work. Went as far as to delete every trace of it off my sd
card,
including roms and saves, and recopy everything as it was released. I'm going
to try
009 again, and then 008, to see where the error seems to start. This way it
should
limit it down to whatever was changed between the two releases.

Hi, i'm HiroshiYamauchi and i have reported the same issues to Tantric at
www.tehskeen.com. I tried to track down any problem with my Wii but everything
is OK,
all the other homebrew apps works but i have no luck getting Snes9xGX 4.0.0,
Snes9xGX
009, Snes9xGX 008 and VbaGX 1.0.8 running.
inighthawki, i have exactly the same issues as you: black screen in Snes9xGX
4.0.0
and VbaGX 1.0.8, and with Snes9xGX 009 and Snes9xGX 008 i get white stucked
screen
with Snes9xGX logo in the upper left corner. Ramdomly i get code dump as well,
but
it's rare.
On a side note, VbaGX 1.0.5 is the only that works for me.
My system: chipped D2A (Wiikey) 3.2u NTSC. I don't use cIOS, never changed
region and
never instaled WADs.

lyrmathews, yes this is EXACTLY the same problem. I tested a bunch of different
versions and find that in snes9xgx, 007 works, 008/009 gets the white screen +
logo,
and 4.0 does not work at all. and in vbagx, 1.0.5 works fine every time, 1.0.6
and
higher black screen (and rare code dump).
It appears not to be an issue with system menu, you @ 3.2, me at 4.0, and i
dont have
a modchip, so that's out too, and you don't have any CIOS. This isnt a HUGE
issue, as
i really dont use any of the new features (i'm pretty much good with the first
release) plus i play most emulators on my pc, but i think this is a major issue
especially if other people experience it as well.

I've taken a look at the update logs, and in both cases, the version that they
crash
on (snes9x and vba) are both the update which implemented some sd fixes
including the
"proper" hotswap for one. Could this be an IO issue with the SD cards? Sadly i
don't
have another SD card to test if that is a problem.

inighthawki, i have news for you! I did test my 3 SD cards without success, so i
thought it was not the problem, but i decided to do another test, with a
aplication
called loadmii (can be founded in Wiibrew) and loaded the emulator through a USB
stick and the result is: success! Definitely it's a problem when loading from SD
cards, at least ours!

that is somewhat good and bad news. For now i will just stick with the older
versions, as i dont use them much, but if necessary i can always get channel
versions

I get the same code dump as inighthawki on my wii. I get the error both when I
load
the .dol and .wad version of snes9xgx 009, snes9xgx 4.0, vbagx 1.0.9, and fceu
ultra
gx. Basically I get the error on any emulator by Tantric. They had worked
prior to
the last few days, the only change I had made was I added the preloader .29 and
the
cIOS for USB

Hi guys, I would like to apologize for the misleading information. The process i
explained above didn't solve the Issue 149. It worked at first, but i think it
was
just some lucky tries. After many hours of testing, i finally found the problem
and i
think the coders will be able to solve it, because anyone can reproduce the
"Never
loads" issue (i don't know what causes the code dump issue, it's beyond my
coding
capabilities). Well, here we go, to reproduce the Issue 149, just delete your
internet configuration settings or turn off your router or your wi-fi access
point.
Thats what causes the emulator to not work, i guess it's a problem related to
SMB. I
think when the emulator loads, it tries to detect the Wi-fi connection and if
nothing
is found, it just freeze at the black screen. I hope it helps to solve the
issue,
because i mainly use emulators on my Wii at my girlfriend's house and she
doesn't
have Wi-fi. I've made a video of how to reproduce the issue 149, it's attached,
sorry
for the bad quality! See you later dudes!

Thats very strange...would be interesting if inighthawki or one of the guys
with the
same problem could tell us if he has a network connection, because i can safely
say
that the missing connection is the only thing that causes crashes on my Wii when
loading the emus Snes9xGX 4.0.0 (4.0.1 as well), VbaGX 1.0.9 and FCE Ultra
3.0.0..

Thanks for the info, currently I'm on a college campus without any net
connection for
my wii. It has settings but no connection at all. Good work though if this is
the
issue, as it would make sense that it never loads if it continuously tries to
access
a net connection...

Is this fixed in 4.0.2?

Not sure about the above with the networking issue (if its even the problem)
but it
didnt help me at all, still a black screen, never loads

I can confirm that it still a issue. Without a working network connection, never
loads, both 4.0.2 and 4.0.3. FCE Ultra 3.0.1 still having the same problem.

i can re-confirm the issue... i didnt have a network connection and none of
the last
emulators worked...older versions runs without problems.. after that test, i
set-up
network connection with an usb adapter... after that FCE Ultra 3.0.1,Snes9x gx
4.0.3
work almost excellent..i had a problem with the wiimote, the emulator didnt
recognize
it, i had to connect a gamecube controller but i could play the games.... VBAGx
2.0.0
didn´t work... i deleted the network connection and the emulators didnt work..
my Wii
is NTSC, 3.2U with CIOS Rev 10 installed. i loaded the emulators through
Homebrew
channel.

Maybe did you install the usb2.0 cIOS and dvdx to IOS202 for mplayer ce 0.5 to
use it?
It gives me strange errors too (in combination with a usb lan adapter)
Try reinstalling dvdx in 'normal'mode (solved the issues for me)

I confirm this. Uninstalled DVDX and then installed again in normal mode and
Snes9X
GX 4.0.4 worked as it should, even without the internet connection. Thanks for
the
guys for figuring it out!
