Aspect ratio broken #506

Closed GoogleCodeExporter closed 9 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 9 years ago
- What steps will reproduce the problem ? -
Play PAL games with the latest revision (4.1.9) like Battletoads in Battle
Maniacs, Killer Instinct (maybe these games use some kind of special
resolution ?).

Other games work great, fullscreen (Super Metroid, Mario World for example)

- What is the expected output ? What do you see instead ? -
Fullscreen expected. Video highly stretched with PAL games, 2/3 of the
screen is black
It doesn't happen with old revisions or with US games ! with the same
parameters :

*render : filtered
*format : default
*Filter : none
*zoom : 100%, 100%
*screen position 0,0
video mode : auto

- What version are you using? On GameCube or Wii ? -
Wii version 4.1.9

- Are you using the official build (from the downloads page or auto-
update) ? -
Official build and self-compiled build

- Please provide any additional information below. -
Please check this imagehack.us album :
http://img197.imageshack.us/g/marioworldpal.jpg/

1-Super Mario World PAL (fine)
2-Killer Instinct USA (fine)
3-Killer Instinct EUR (bad)
4-Battletoads in Battlemaniacs USA (fine)
5-Battletoads in Battlemaniacs EUR (bad)

Maybe you already know (or already fixed it ?! :-D), but in case it can help
you :

this "aspect ratio bug" is definitely here since rev570
I have recompiled rev569 and it works really nice with PAL games.

It seems obvious that the "spify new video code" is guilty ;-)

you have to compile it yourself.

I have uploaded rev581 (if not allowed, I'll remove it) :

http://www.megaupload.com/?d=L9C8G9DI

ps : this is not the latest (rev584) because rev582 and > code dump on my wii
when
entering the menu after launching a game.

BTW if you want to compile it yourself

this one ?

http://code.google.com/p/snes9x-gx/issues/detail?id=486#c3

Did you try to delete the config file ? I played Mario World (versions 1.0 and
1.1 revA) for hours with the latest builds, without any problem.

Maybe the zoom option (100%, 100% ?) ?
