Audio accuracy #507

Closed GoogleCodeExporter closed 9 years ago

1. Load Super Mario All Stars
2. The menu music/effects sounds too bright/tinny; this is simply one example

1. Load Super Mario World
2. The Underground level melody trails off at the end of the phrase instead
of a cutoff.

The the power-up, enter-tube, and Yoshi coin sounds are much improved with
the new core, however.

Which version are you using (PAL/NTSC)? And which Snes9gGx are you using?

Scratch the Underground music "inaccuracy." That's how it's supposed to be. :P
 The
audio is tinny, though.

Latest auto-update (Wii) NTSC

That's a known issue with libogc (the library used for the Snes9x port), dborth
knows
about this, but not much can be done about it. For now, switching back and forth
between game-to-menu, menu-to-game (home button) is the only temporary solution
for
this issue. It's annoying, I know, but at least Snes9x is a lot better than it
used
to be, what with the new sound core and all..XD

I never noticed the tinny audio before the new sound core while using the
emulator. I
only heard it after returning to the System Menu.

The issue has been there before the new audio core; I've been using this
emulator for
well over a year.

@westonlast, like I said before, this issue cannot be fixed by dborth and has
to be fixed by those who program libogc. The skipping audio, on the other hand,
may have a higher likelihood of being fixed, but then again, it may be a long
time.
