Random crashes when switching to menu #526

Closed GoogleCodeExporter closed 9 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 9 years ago
What steps will reproduce the problem?
- Play games, switch to menus, load up other games, make/load a savestate.
Basically do anything involving switching from different games to the menu(s).

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
- No formula to that one, the emulator just crashes when interacting with the
menu.

Does this issue occur on SNES9x for Windows 1.52? If so, please report the
issue on the Snes9x forum.
- No

What version are you using? On GameCube or Wii?
- 4.2.0 Gamecube

Are you using the official build (from the downloads page or auto-update)?
- Official build

Please provide any additional information below.
- The crashes are very random. One time it crashed, when I tried to make a
savestate in Aladdin. Then it crashed, when I tried to access the 'Load'-menu
while playing Mortal Kombat II (there was no old savefile for this game).
Another time it crashed, when I simply tried to access the emulator menu while
playing Super Mario Allstars. It only seems to happen, when you switch between
different games and interact with the emulator menus. It doesn't crash on me,
when I just play one game without loading up another one.

It's an out-of-memory issue.

Yes it does not crash anymore in r598, though after loading many roms the menu
gets corrupted.
